In Jurong Lake Gardens is a Japanese garden and a Chinese garden.  Both are large in scale and the buildings are a bit monumental and bright for my taste.  The Chinese garden is currently closed for refurbishment.

There are plenty of penjing – dish scenery – the precursor of bonsai.
