I acquired this fascinating book at the excellent oriental book specialist Hanshan Tang.   It is the catalogue of an exhibition of bapo works at Boston’s Museum of Fine Art – I wish I had seen it!
Bapo are paintings, artfully contrived to look like collages of torn or burnt originals,  using elements of traditional painting such as calligraphy, seals and fans, as well as more modern objects like tickets.
