I am absolutely delighted that my zhong cai gongbi orchids are now in the collection of the British Consulate in Chongqing! The inscription is Ode to the Orchid by Tang Yanqian: “A gentle breeze sways the emerald arcs. Cool dew drips onto the blue jade. Why do the elegant not wear them? Fragrance lingers in the empty valley.”

This lotus was inspired by Bada Shanren’s famous handscroll Flowers on the River.
