Unbroken

I acquired this wonderful book at the excellent oriental book specialist Hanshan Tang.   It is the catalogue of an exhibition of bapo works at Boston’s Museum of Fine Art in 2017 – I wish I had seen it!

These delightful images are paintings, artfully contrived to look like collages of torn or burnt originals, and use the motifs of traditional painting such as calligraphy, seals and fans, as well as more modern objects like tickets.

Here are a couple of real collages that I did quite a while ago, as a tribute to my tai chi instructor.
